We’ve made a little video to go along with the April 19th radio interview on AM1000’s Garden Talk with Bob Carey.
In recent days many people have been walking, cycling, and driving down to the bridge, finding it to be a place of peace in these difficult times. I left flowers on it one morning. In the days to follow, so did others. We even had an Easter Bunny.

Thanks to all who attended, including Lower Allen Township Commissioners Villone and Schin. And thanks to artist Diane Foster for her beautiful rendition of the bridge – which is available with a $400 donation to our bridge fund!
In recognition of the possible detrimental effect the closure of the Sheepford Road Bridge, and the planned closure of the Slate Hill Road bridge for one year could have on their businesses, these stores have joined us in this fundraiser for the Sheepford Road Bridge.
Shop ’til you drop in New Cumberland on March 7th, 11 – 2 PM.

As we expected, the bridge has failed inspection and will be closed indefinitely while the counties make a “plan.”
We will continue to work towards the goal of restoration/preservation of the bridge for the community it has served for over 140 years. The fight is not over.
